My Story
My name is Andrew Brinkworth, I am 23 years old. I began weightlifting as a hobby, motivated quite obviously by the idea of being jacked and strong. I remember the day I knew I was going to start pursuing weightlifting as a hobby, the teacher that told me, “Keep it up, you’re onto something.” That was all it took.
Before I stepped into the fitness industry as a career path, I enjoyed many years on stage as an actor, and have even started transitioning into Film and TV roles in my adult life. I enjoyed figuring out how to use my body language, vocal inflections, and expressions to convey an emotion or idea to an audience in a convincing way. I continue to enjoy that pursuit to this day, with intentions to intersect performance and my physique through bodybuilding.
I gained my Bachelor’s of Science in Kinesiology because I loved the gym and found biomechanics and technique to be passionate topics to learn about. I also enjoyed the mental aspect to fitness and health, and how much the mind can determine attitude and output. I got my certifications in Personal Training and Nutrition Coaching to direct my passion and knowledge for these areas into helping other people. I had also experienced some injuries and learned how valuable movement can be for the recovery process, but even more so, how the valuable a strong mind can be for the process as well. Roadblocks and mistakes serve as humble reminders that there are other avenues to achieve goals and make progress.
My goal with this business is to simplify an oversaturated market. Exercise and physical activity can be enjoyable. Nutrition can be enjoyable. Your goals can be reached.
There is one caveat to all of this: you have to want to do it.
I’m not an elite athlete. I don’t have optimal genetics. What I do have, is a good work ethic, a strong mindset, and a belief in the ability of a human being to break through limitations. The way I think about exercise and my goals looks something like this:
If I could snap my fingers and have my dream physique right now, I wouldn’t do it. You might wonder, “If you can do that, why wouldn’t you?”
The answer is: Whatever I can make myself believe that I want in my mind is only a fraction of what I am literally capable of. Belief is not a bad thing, but discipline, action, and accountability will take me farther than anything I can make up in my mind.
I do not want to invalidate that whatever body you have in mind for yourself is not worth pursuing, but I want to motivate you that it is only a portion of what you’re capable of. The truth is, until you do it, your dream body could be vastly different from what you manifest. Goals are the guidelines for how we dedicate our energy towards something, but allowing the process to be what it is, and enjoying it for that, is going to get you results both externally and internally.
